Looking Back: The Positive Impact of 20,000 Lives Saved

Angels20000

In 2009, LuAnn Farrell and Valerie Addington, both dog lovers, were concerned about the plight of homeless pets in Georgia.

They had a history of volunteering and working with animals and wanted to do more to help pets in need. They saw firsthand the issues facing shelters and animal rescue: unaltered pets having unwanted litters, abused or abandoned pets, and overcrowded shelters that could not help every animal in need.

This led the pair to found Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats throughout the greater Atlanta area. Angels Rescue provides necessary medical care through partnerships with local veterinarians, places pets in loving foster homes, and works to help every rescued pet find their forever family.

In 2022, thirteen years after our inception and solely with volunteer foster families, we are proud to say we’ve reached a momentous milestone: 20,000 animals saved! But that number is just the tip of the iceberg of our impact throughout the years.

Along with the lives saved, this impact includes humans as well. Fosters and volunteers experienced the joy of helping dogs and cats on their journey from homeless to happily ever after. Adopters found the perfect addition to their families. Local veterinarians and trainers used their talents to make these pets healthy and happy. And our generous supporters around the globe made it all possible.

We are proud of  this incredible milestone and we are so grateful for the thousands of wonderful people across the globe who have contributed their time, skills, money, and energy to help Angels Rescue with our mission to Rescue One Until There Are None.  We couldn’t have done it without you.

Here’s to the next 20,000 animals we will save together and many more years of making a difference in the lives of homeless pets.
