4. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We may provide information to vendors that help us with website hosting, forms, databases, email delivery, analytics, payments, fundraising, events, shipping, merchandise, communications, security, and other operational services. They are permitted to use information only for the services they provide to us, subject to their agreements and applicable law.
Rescue operations. We may share information with authorized staff, volunteers, fosters, adoption coordinators, veterinarians, shelters, references, landlords, partner rescues, and others when reasonably necessary to evaluate applications, coordinate animal care or placement, or carry out our mission.
At your direction or with your consent. We may disclose information when you request or authorize us to do so.
Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or is necessary to investigate fraud, enforce agreements, respond to an emergency, or protect rights, property, animals, or personal safety.
Organizational transactions. If Angels Rescue is involved in a merger, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar organizational transaction, information may be disclosed as part of that process, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some analytics or advertising technologies, if used, may involve disclosures that certain privacy laws define as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising. Where required, we will provide an applicable method to opt out.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the Services functioning, remember preferences, understand website use, improve performance, and measure outreach or advertising. For example, our website uses Google Tag Manager to help manage website tags, and tags loaded through it may set or access cookies.
You can control many cookies through your browser settings and, if available on our site, through a cookie preference tool. Blocking cookies may affect some features. Browser-based “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry. We will respond to legally recognized opt-out preference signals where required by applicable law.
6. Email and Other Communications
We use service providers, including Constant Contact, to manage certain email communications. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by selecting the unsubscribe link in any such message. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send transactional or service-related messages, such as donation receipts, order notices, application communications, or important account information.
7. Mobile Data and Text Messaging
No Mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites and platforms, including donation, payment, event registration, merchandise, social media, and animal-listing services. A third party may collect information directly from you under its own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing information.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to administer adoptions, foster placements, volunteer participation, donations, purchases, accounts, and relationships; maintain organizational and tax records; resolve disputes; enforce agreements; and satisfy legal, accounting, insurance, and reporting obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected. We may delete, anonymize, or aggregate information when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping needs.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use care when sending information online and protect your account credentials.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Services without appropriate authorization. Information about children may be provided by an adult as part of a household, adoption, foster, volunteer, event, or other form. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.
